University of Engineering and Technology Lahore

The University of Engineering and Technology Lahore. 

Set up in 1921 as Maclagan Engineering College, it was named after Edward Douglas MacLagan In 1932 the school transformed into a cooperated school of the University of Punjab and began offering professional educations in building disciplines. In 1962 the school was yielded an agreement and renamed as the West Pakistan University of Engineering. In 1972, the school was renamed as UET. It set up a minute grounds in 1975 in Taxila which in 1998 transformed into a self-sufficient school in its own specific rightThe school beginning at 2016 has a staff of 881 people with 257 with doctorates. It has an aggregate of 9,385 student and 1 708 postgraduate understudies pondering more than 32 STEM majors. 

History 

UET was set up in 1921 in Mughalpura, a provincial locale of Lahore as Mughalpura Technical College. In 1923, the name was changed to Maclagan Engineering College to regard Sir Edward Maclagan the then Governor of the Punjab, who built up the system stone of the building. 

In 1932 the foundation twisted up clearly auxiliary with the University of the Punjab for conceding a four year affirmation in Engineering By the period of opportunity of Pakistan in 1947 it offered Bachelor of Science courses in electrical mechanical and basic building. 

In 1954 a four year affirmation program in Mining Engineering was started. In 1961 it was again renamed as West Pakistan University of Engineering and Technologycitation required. In the midst of the 1960s, four year accreditation courses were started in Chemical Engineering, Petroleum and Gas Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Architecture, and City and Regional Planning. By the 1970 it had developed completed a score of expert degree courses in building configuration, masterminding and cooperated disciplines. PhD degree programs were in like manner started. Today it is by and large idea to be the best and most grandiose building school of Pakistan with upwards of 50 000 understudies applying every year
